View Full Version : Has anyone worked at Goodrich, Vought, or Boeing before?

I've been hunting for a new position over the past 2 months and I'm coming now to the very end of the search. I've got 2 offers on the table right now, and 1 more coming as soon as I pass the background check (which should be no problem as long as they don't find the multiple homicides). I'm looking to make a decision in the next week, and I'm wondering if anyone here has any working experience with these companies (especially in the specific facility, and/or as a Quality Engineer).

Goodrich Aerostructures (Chula Vista, CA facility)
Vought Aircraft Industries (Charleston, SC facility)
Boeing (Everett, WA facility)

Shot in the dark, but the companies are pretty big, so who knows. I'm just looking to get as much information as possible on the working environment and culture so I can make an informed decision.

Thanks!

I have heard that Goodrich is a very good place to work. I've been trying to get in there for a while too. I'm curious how you got an in there, did you just use the website, or do you know somebody there?

I don't have any contacts there - I applied to a bunch of positions via the website. I think the key was that I signed onto LinkedIn and found some technical recruiters and contacted them directly. I got lucky and hit on the one who was recruiting for the one job I REALLY wanted. I also got lucky in that the hiring manager is an East Coast native, and held my alma mater in higher regard than a lot of west-coasters. (I can't believe I'm saying "alma mater" already.)

What did you hear about it being a good place to work?

One of my friends mothers friend works in the administration side and I was told that they take care of there employees. I have another acquaintance I used to know that worked there and he loved his job. He was a Union guy. That's really as much as I know about the Corporate environment.
