I'm surprised to see Victorville, CA. I used to live there when my Dad was stationed at George AFB. If you get a chance, you can always stop in the "Roy Roger's Museum". :rolleyes: Overall, it was nice area, but that was back in 1981.

Seriously, the Toronto area is very nice in the spring/summer/ & fall. If you like skiing, it is nice year round.

Ever get to Parris Island? I live nearby and this spring the Great Salkehatchie Swamp actually has water in it...the fish will bite anything, maybe I'll get laid off.

My brother spent some time at Parris Island, didn't like the sun burns, heat stroke, and shin splints much....but overall he said the weather was nice. I was considering SC for a move, Connecticut is too expensive to live comfortably and the weather could drive you insane. ;)

Seriously, the Toronto area is very nice in the spring/summer/ & fall. If you like skiing, it is nice year round. I've made over a dozen trips to Toronto in the last 2-3 years....we use the Marriott by the airport. We previously used the Valhalla in Etibicoke.

Gert, it's been awhile, but I went through Copenhagen, Denmark traveling to Hoganas, Sweden a couple of times about 6/7 years ago. Managed to find time to spend an extra day and view the city on each trip. I spent a fair amount of time in the National Museum each trip - some great artifacts on display, including the Gundestrupp Caldron.

Alas, no overseas trips in the recent past, nor any on the horizon. My major travel this year will be a trip to Fortess Louisberg, near the town of Louisberg, Nova Scotia, Canada for a French & Indian War (aka the Seven Years War) reenactment near the end of July.
