View Full Version : Exporting Minitab outputs to other programs (Powerpoint)??

Hi Everyone-

I am new to Minitab. My company has just reqeusted that we start using it.
I was wondering if it was possible to export a graph (complete with interactions) to another program, for example: Powerpoint.

I understand I can make reports with Minitab- though we would still like to use PPT's as well.

Also in Excel there is an "auto filter" option. Is there something similar in Minitab? If so, what is the option and how do I find it?

I appreciate any information you may have on this topic. Thanks so much!

Regards,

Yes you can. Follow this link
http://www.units.muohio.edu/mcs/univapps/area351/documentation/quantapps/MiamiOnly/Minitab/ElectronicDoc/MCUSEDDE.pdf

or seach google with the following keywords: "Minitab + "Dynamic Data Exchange"

A word of caution though: Using this technique with considerable volume of data will eat a lot of your PC's Random Access Memory causing slower performance.

Hope that helps :-)

Thanks for the tip. Now on to see if I can figure it out.

I find it easiest to just copy the graph and paste it as a jpg into Powerpoint, in other words, not set up a dynamic link.

Such embedded links are a real drain on system performance.

In our case at least the Powerpoint presentation just needs a static report/chart.

Any subsequent analysis is better done back in Minitab.

As far as I have seen, you can only move data about with DDE not graphs.

You are better off copy and pasting the graph into power point. Either as a Graph object, or if you paste special you should be able to change the graph to picture.

Alternatives are to right click on the graph in Minitab, and move it to the report pad. A simple trick that can move any graph or session window result across to Minitab's report pad. From here you can export a compiled report into word with a few clicks.
