I have been given the task of creating a presentation that would somehow give internal auditors insight into the audit process above and beyond the standard classes and instructions we all receive. Is this an idea that has any merit? I don't know. Has anyone written a book(s) on the subject?

Maybe a practical approach would focus on those items unique in my industry.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

When you say insight, is that to how to perform an audit interview or more of how to prepare for an audit? Not written a book, but like many people have been audited to death over the years, some good experiences and some bad experiences. Would like to help:)

Writting a book(s) is not out of the question.
I thought I would like to write during my semi-retirement, hopefully coming up soon.
