I received an email from a Registered Visitor here: This is the text of a spam mail I received from temico@tom.com; see second line. Is this possible?

I do NOT, and have not, and will not, sell email addresses. And - The moderators and I go out of our way to keep email addresses out of posts. That is the ONLY way someone can get a Registered Visitor's email address.

If anyone else got this SPAM email from temico@tom.com, please let us know by replying in this thread or PM or Email a moderator or me.

You're right, there is no way anyone can get/harvest members' email addresses...unless the address is published somewhere on the site or included in posts.

Was this through the forums email (sendmessage) system? The one I got from the complainant was to me through the forum blind email system. The Registered Visitor didn't say how he got the email. I *assumed* it was through regular email, but now that I think of it.... I have emailed the person and asked.

Now - To shower and on to class...

I haven't received anything (yet); nor have I heard of anyone else who has received anything. Maybe (hopefully):cfingers: they're just messing with your mind.
