Hello all,
My company is in the process of reviewing our visual work instructions and was curious to know what others are using. If anyone has a visual template they particularly like could they up load for us to see.
To get the ball rolling I have posted the template we currently use.
I do have a completed example I will upload when I find it.
Cheers.

Over here, we deal with a lot of foreign workers and hence communication is a problem. The favorite approach is a two column table - one side with photo or picture and the other side, point-form explanatory note.
Check our posts attachments list (http://elsmar.com/Forums/fileslist.php?mode=allfiles&sortby=filename&pageamt=2&criteria=wi) for some examples. Look for 'WI' items at the very end.

Nice and simple is the key Harry. Unlike our current visual procedure, using your template, quantity of photos is not limited to 3 or 6.

Nice and simple is the key ...
“Nice & simple” – exactly how should be done…
…and the most important thing is, they are clearly understandable & helpful to the users itself… ;)

Joshua,
Do you have any examples of visual work instructions?

We do have in some areas… but since our operators are skilled & possessed certain level of education (as competence requirements), our “visual working instructions” are most-likely the drawing representation of our equipments showing & identifying buttons / switches / knobs and their functions - their purpose is mostly on safety aspects rather than a working instruction or the “step-by-step” way to carry out an activity as you may looking for… :read:

Here is one I developed. It is a bit more complicated . sort of an attachment to the job description.
I have truncated it somewhat, but the workflow part is there.

Can you share the ones you have?
Many Fellow Covers are also interested in safety.
