Are you making any business plans to visit California in the near future?

I will be in San Marcos (45 minutes north) the same week.

Close enough for me. We can probably work out a dinner or something. I have a software install and tutorial that week so it's a 5PM and all is done situation.

Are you driving or flying? Maybe when you're heading down there we could meet up in DFW? Is it possible?

I am done after 5pm also. I'll PM you with contact info.

Brad, I couldn't tell whether your post was to Marc only or both of us. I am flying direct into Austin, so no chance at DFW.

Either of you:yes:. Oh well, it was worth a try. San Antonio is like 4+ hours away from me.

I was thinking of driving, but that extra leg to San Antonio (and a US$320 round trip ticket) made flying 'it' for this trip. I do land in DFW for about 1.5 hours each way but not enough time, I don't think, to meet.

Ya gota do the River Walk while you're there. Evenings are excellant and the restaurants are nearly limitless.

Oh yes...A Yankee like you has to go pay homage at the Alamo. It's nothing like the movies.

Are you making any business plans to visit California in the near future? Not off hand. I'll start a thread if I do.

Yes it is really neat to see the Alamo. Marc, are you doing something at the convention center?

:topic:
I don't remember if it was the Alamo tour or something else, but there was a theory that there was a huge amount of gold stored at the Alamo, which was one reason Santa Anna was so bent on getting in there.

Also, not sure if you booked your room yet, but if it's on your nickel, the rooms in San Antonio are not cheap. We usually stay right outside of S.A.

I stayed on the Riverwalk 5 days for free (that's what all those hotel points are for):D

...are you doing something at the convention center?Nope - Visiting a company.

In Boca, the motel put a "Safe In Room" charge of something like 6 bucks. They said they couldn't take off the charge because they couldn't take the safe out of the room... That was at a Quality Inn.

I drove up to San Marcos and met Miner. We went to Texas Red's for dinner. Very nice place. It was a pleasure meeting Miner.

Haven't gotten out other than that. Days have been the 8am to 6pm variety (for lack of a better word), so I'm pretty tired after leaving the client's facility.

I have a 6am flight out Saturday morning, so I expect to be 'back in shape' sleep wise by Sunday and at this time plan to be home all next week. No other travel plans yet.
