Has anyone been 3rd party audited to VDA6 and QS9000? We have been registered to QS9000 for some time now. When we had our VDA6 registration audit, our registrar skipped certain VDA6 elements since we were registered to QS9000 already. Their reasoning was that the overlap between VDA6 and QS9000 was so great (on those elements) that they didn't need to look at the VDA6 requirements. Has your registrar taken a similar approach?

It was back in 1994 but it was the same with a client I worked with. That's where I was 'introduced' to VDA6.

If you are registered to ISO9001 and 'upgrade' to the QS additions a similar effect generally occurs - they already know you're compliant to much of the stuff so they focus on the new stuff.
