Hi!
Anyone know what PMP characteristics are? I found it on a GM print, next to the gage points... some of the gage points were identified as "PMP". what's the meaning of that? are these considered as Special characteristics? what PMP stand for?
:)

I did a research and PMP stands for: Process Monitoring Points. I found a document that specifies PMP's and KPC's.. so, they are making a difference between both of them.. however, the chart for controlling both characteristics is the same.. so, again my question is.. does anybody from GM knows if the PMP's should be controlled by SPC - Cpk's, or could be just controlled on the control plan, like a non-special characteristic?

Are you a direct (1st Tier) supplier to GM?
If so, you could ask them directly.
I will investigate....
