Hi

Does anyone know of any European regulations, directives or national laws stating how long support should be provided for medical devices after manufacture has ceased? I am thinking primarily about the supply of consumables for hardware devices

Thanks
Crhis?

What was the expected life of the device? I don't know about regs, but it would make sense that you'd want to offer service/support for the device at least until the end of its expected life.

Wish I could offer more. :(

Thanks Guys

I'm thinking of a piece of capital equipment with a large user base, that has reached the end of its design life. How long should consumables be maintained for such a device?

From the lack of response, I guess no one else knows of any regulations that would cover this.
