Hi,

Can anybody direct me to the correct label symbol to be used for steam sterilisation and what is the ISO standard that is normally used.

ISO15223 and EN980 are your standards.

A steam sterilization symbol will be the word STERILE in a box with a thermometer graphic next to it. Follow the link or do a search on those two standards and you'll see it.

Note I'm not advocating using this site's prodcuts, I am simply providing it as an idea of what they look like.

Also if you do a google search on ISO 7000-2503 you will come up with a link to a draft of the ISO15223 document. It was the first of 3 links for me.

I attach the image from EN980 for both moist and dry heat. When you ask which standard is normally used do you also want the reference 17665:2006, the ISO standard for moist heat sterilization of medical devices?
