Dear Experts,‎

Our new Management decided to include new procedure in our Quality Management System ‎‎“Control of Vital Documents and Records”.‎:applause:

My enquiry is ‎
‎ ‎
Most of the documents and records in the QMS are not considered as the vital documents / ‎records such as reservation forms, purchase orders, repair orders, preventive maintenance ‎plan ….etc, keeping in mind that the mentioned documents are controlled as quality record. ‎:bonk:
‎ ‎
What should I do if the management decides to control only the vital documents such as ‎contracts, invoices, etc? Should I remove the quality record from the master list?‎:bonk:

You / your management will need to identify and define these 'Vital Documents and Records'. Once identified and defined, the management may choose to control them in a different manner than other documents and records and therefore the need / possibility of a different procedure.

However, this does not mean that you do not control other documents and records. All relevant documents and records must be controlled. There is no need to remove any records from the master list if that is how you are already controlling them.
