OSLO, Norway, Sept 23, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Henrik Madsen, president and CEO of DNV, will join heads of state and business leaders from around the world this week at United Nations Headquarters in New York at an event focusing on the renewing commitments to achieving the Millennium Development and Food Sustainability Goals by 2015, as well as setting out concrete plans and practical steps for action.
Dr. Madsen will deliver remarks on Wed., Sept. 24, during a forum on food safety and sustainable food production.
The forum, titled "Millennium Development Goals and Food Sustainability" will share best practices from leading private sector organizations in an effort to reverse global food shortages, malnourishment and environmentally-destructive farming and production.
"It is an honor to be part of such a prestigious event," says Dr. Madsen. "There are serious issues to address and we feel we have something important to contribute. Working toward food sustainability is also completely in line with our vision of global impact for a safe and sustainable future."
