I came across this message while researching an upcoming Semiconductor FMEA Study and I felt obligated to put my 2 cents in....
We have used Mpact Software in the past and found that while it was strong in some areas, it did not makeup for the week & confusing portion of the FMEA Analysis. It seems that you need a degree in Quantum Physics to understand how it operates (kidding)...we had no patience for their tech support and as a result abandoned their product.
Frankly the reply to the initial message sounds like this is a Sales Q/A session online...I hope this is not the case!
In search for New FMEA technology, A colleague of mine (@SixSigma) told me about a tool he came across “FMEA-Pro”, developed by a Risk Analysis Company - Dyadem International.
You won't believe what they have done for FMEA studies. The software (we ended up purchasing) includes "Knowledge based Libraries" which prompt me to consider checklists of F-modes, F-Effects & Current Controls. Security features include "electronic records and signatures" and Password protection on files.
It also allows me to print reports in HTML which means I can email a report to someone and they don't have to have my software to view it.
Take my advice and check this out for yourself...they were allowing you to download a full working copy the last time I checked....by the way, ask them for a free telephone tutorial...you won't regret it!

What company are you with and how long have you been using their software.

I'm not sure what you mean by this - Al just suggested MPACT - your reply is more of a serious sales pitch.
Ford is also coming out (or has come out with) with a 'new' version of FMEA Plus. Their FMEA software, while somewhat archaic (but then again, you have to look at when it was developed - the late 1980's?) was a 'standard' to some degree for a long while.

I have also heard of the FMEA-Pro software... its very good. I think they started a few years ago with medical device companies. I heard a few guys at some of the major part suppliers to the big three are looking at this package since it has a great interface for consistant documentation between my plants.

One more thing, I'm doing work for a few companies now that perform completely different FMEA methodologies and the FMEA-Pro was the most flexible tool I've seen, especially for companies that needed to complete Software FMEAs. Has anyone else seen the software too?

Hi, I have had a chance to look into Process Analyzer & AQuA, two products from Omnex. The first one takes care of not only FMEAs but it also acts as a database that drives customer complaints and rejection analysis plus some other features. They also have a product for APQP documentation, which includes FMEAs.
