I would like to know if anyone has any advice for certification of additional sites to TS. I am the Quality Manager for two tool & die / metal stamping facilities (100 & 40 employees) with the owners being partners at both locations. The larger location is TS Certified and I am trying to get the smaller location certified, as well. The owners are suggesting that I try and add the smaller site to the others certification as they do a lot of work for each other and the HR function and some of the other support is at the larger location. I would like to know if this is something I can do and how to go about it?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, indeed, you should be able to do that. It's normal for both sites to 'share' the QMS in some way, though.
Your CB will want details of the facility, like headcount, process performed, shifts, products, etc. They will most likely add days to the next surveillance visit to do an assessment at this new location.
You should contact your CB Business Development or Client Services people - or call me!:notme:

Thanks AndyN!
Would the additional location have to use the same systems manual and procedures as the certified site or would I have to define an additional manual? And would I have to revise my system at the certified site to include all the activites at the additional site?
Thanks again...

A shared QMS normally means shared q manual, shared systems procedures, shared internal audits, management reviews etc. Otherwise it looks like a different company and couldn't be added into the original cert. There can be local departures from procedures, (maybe someone in a different function does a job, perhaps a different form is used for something) but nothing really major.
Chances are, some aspect of the original sites QMS will have to change - management review might, for example, to encorporate the 'new' sites' perfrmance metrics.
