Question for the CQI-11 experts: Our galvanized wire supplier advises that the CQI assessment does not apply to them as the hot dip galvanizing process is not part of the AIAG assessment criteria.
The AIAG assessment tables do not specify or enable reporting of the Hot Dip Galvanizing process used to galvanize our wire. It is specific to electroplating, acid, alkaline and mechanical plating, none of which apply to hot-dip galvanizing. The wire literally runs continuously through a hot molten zinc bath, which hardens on the surface of the wire. This process is not part of the CQI-11 reporting tables.
Our external auditor doesn't believe this, can any one else add any insight on this subject.

Did the external auditor cite a specific clause/requirement in CQI-11 or other relevant document supporting why s/he does not believe this?
Any other Covers that can help?

No our auditor had nothing, just would not believe the documented evidence I provided. He left yesterday and will follow up with his "experts" and will get back to me, this of course would give me 6mths before our next visit. I did advise him that I would require documented evidence and that just "expert opinion" would not suffice.

Good job Cheryl. You are doing the right thing, requesting documentation and not accepting the "verbal opinion."
