Hi Folks
Hope you can give me some ideas of how to resolve this issue :

We were given an NC during our TS surveillance audits.

The NC is as follow :
Control plans did not indicate how the organization intends to monitor the process to ensure initial capability is maintained during mass production.
- ISO/TS Clause 7.3.2.3/7.3.3

We did capability studies for self-identified special characteristics for every new product during PPAP submission to demonstrate Ppk at > 1.67.

Does this means during mass production , we need to monitor and calculate
the Cpk periodically to show that we are > 1.33?

PPAP requires that you maintain process capability Cpk and/or Ppk after PPAP submission and approval per customer requirements. Yes, that means "Mass Production." Your control plan must indicate how you are going to do this.

That would take a lot of time and space....:(

However, do you have access to the AIAG APQP manual (2nd Edition perhaps)?

Section 6 in that manual provides excellent guidelines and fairly decent examples of how to develop control plans.

There are also examples to look at here at The Cove Forums.

I hope that I answered your question, if not, please let me know.

TS requires you to know your process capability, identify reaction plan when process capability is not met, and use its measure to indicate areas for continual improvement. The control plan may be a handy place to put it because you can identify what you are measuring, how you are measuring it, how often, and a reaction plan for when your capability falls out of favor for those characteristics that you reported capability for in your PPAP. The frequency is up to you, but let's say you do it annually, and it fails. What is going got be your reaction plan for the prior year's product? When did the capability go bad? What is your corrective action going to be?
