View Full Version : Help me find ISO Standards list
SteelMaiden 12th November 2008, 02:26 PM I am the world's worst search initiater....so forgive me, I know this is probably really simple stuff.
Once upon a time I had seen a list of al the ISO standards and how certain blocks of numbers were assigned to certain things, such as 9XXX is quality management systems, 14XXX is environmental management systems. I went to the ISO site, and did some searching there, but did not see the list (at least as I remember it). Can someone assist me, I'm having a senior moment. thanks!
Oh, I ask because one of our electricians came in and said "hey, Steel, can you tell me what this ISO standard is...it said ISO 1(one) something, something, 801 (eight, zero, one) ISO 1XX801. They said they couldn't read the second and third numbers, but thought it might be a cabling standard.....Oh, the life I lead:lmao:

Maybe this (http://www.standardsglossary.com/) will help.
SteelMaiden 12th November 2008, 03:04 PM Jim, you are so there! thank you, thank you! It is a sad fact that since I had my head injury in 2004, I have a very tough time putting together search phrases that manage to actually get good reliable results.:( Of all the things I've ever lost, I miss my mind the most.:notme:

I'm glad it helped. Sometimes people make searches too complicated--I searched on list iso standards (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=list+iso+standards&aq=f&oq=), and it was the fifth hit.
SteelMaiden 12th November 2008, 05:01 PM funny, I did "ISO standards list". Sometimes it is just a carp shoot. My electrician says thanks, she found the right one! I told her I had to give the credit to you.

If you used the quote marks, that was the problem.

:lmao:OK, just got back from our monthly supervisors' meeting. Brought a nice cold diet Pepsi with me. Now half of it resides on my keyboard. At least I don't have to worry about the sugar getting sticky or enticing ants to come live in my office.

I just went through this website. Seams to me that this website would be helpful to me.
Thanks,

Steel,
You could have a look at my old thread - List of ISO Standards (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=17344)where there are excellent links. :)
