Thanks for this information on the review end date. I see the SAE site just list as "Work in Progress" It would be nice to get a general date. I need to update for ISO9001-2008 but want to work on both at the same time.
:thanx:

Does anyone have an update on the release of the new version of AS9120?

According to the information in the private part of the AAQG website, the 9120 standard has been ballotted and it could be out soon.

But, just like for AS9100 Rev. C, nobody will be able to be certified to 9120 Rev. A until early 2010, because the CB auditors will have to be trained in the (yet to be developed) IAQG-sanctioned package.

Hi Sidney. Thanks for the valuable information and all the support you have provided to this site over the years. Not to take anything away from all the others who have contributed, Thank you too!!:applause:

In regards to AS9120, can AA's be qualified to audit with an AEA or AIEA who is qualified. If so, what is the process to get them qualified? The RABQSA website has nothing to say on this. I am interested in this because the workload in this area is steadily increasing and I am presently thinking about bringing some AA's in to audit. However, I don't know how?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can I assume you are working for a registrar? AA's are allowed to audit in accredited AQMS audits as long as an AEA or AIEA is leading the team. Once they are an AA you would qualify them in the same way you would qualify any other auditor. RABQSA follows the rules specified in AS9104-3, and the audits must conform to the requirements in AS9104 and AS9014.

AEA's have to be qualified for the schheme such as AS9100, AS9110 or AS9120.

Do AA's have to be qualified for AS9110 and AS9120?

Can an AEA for AS9100 and AS9120 be considered to be an AA for AS9110?

Do AA's have to be qualified for AS9110 and AS9120? If you qualify as an AA for 9100, you are deemed qualified as an AA for 9120, if you take and pass an 9120 Foundation Course. Very few organizations going for 9120 certification are large enough to justify more than one auditor on site, who must be an AEA. Can an AEA for AS9100 and AS9120 be considered to be an AA for AS9110?No.

Thanks Howste. Yes I do work for a registrar. I was quite familiar with the AA's role in the other standards (AS9100 and AS9110) because RABQSA clearly covers those. The AS9104 and AS9014 do mention it in the table, but I just wanted to be sure.

Howste, if you work for a registrar have you gone through the process with AS9120 for AA's? I ask, because I hate to go through a process only to find that what I did was wrong. If I read you correctly, the AA must go through the same self study course that the AEA or AIEA had to go through to be qualified to AS9120. Am I correct in that assumption?

DannyK, the question on AA's is good and hopefully Howste can provide more detail. As for the question on AEA (9100 and 9120 qualified) being qualified for AS9110, they can as long as they meet the requirements listed in AS9104.

Thanks everybody for the help.:bigwave:

Cheers Dez
