View Full Version : Standards for loyalty barcodes - USA says that C128 is their standard

Hi!

Could someone help me with advise about standards for loyalty barcodes?

I work in an international company with CRM. We need to set a standard for which barcode to use for loyalty information. USA says that C128 is their standard, other parts of the world wants to use Code 39.

Could someone help me with pros- and cons for both options and perhaps a recommendation about what to use?

:thanx:

Welcome to the Cove :). I don't have an answer, but I want to make sure we understand what you're looking for. "CRM" is Customer Relationship Management? Is a "loyalty barcode" the coding on so-called "loyalty cards" used by many grocery stores and other retail outlets?

HI
Yes, CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management or Marketing. With loyalty barcode I mean customer information that can be stored in a barcode. The barcode can be printed e.g on a membership card.

Thanks for the clarification. BTW, customer information isn't stored in a barcode; it's stored in a database that's referenced by the barcode.

Your query is a bit peripheral to the focus of the Cove, but there are a lot of people here with very wide experience, so there may well be someone here who can help. Stay tuned.

If found a site called Barcodes.com that has an Ask a Question (http://www.barcode.com/ask-a-question/) page where you might be able to get some information.
