Hi,

Welcome to the Cove. I think that you may benefit from reading the threads listed at the bottom of this page. Canned systems is a subject that has been discussed several times here, and there are some pretty good responses in those threads.

Hi Q.A. Info. and welcome to the Cove,

We have had a number of discussions here about "canned" packages. For the most part, you won't find too many people who would recommend using them, except for reference.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will find links to similar threads.

Gert and Carol X,
Thank you for your quick response. I am tasked with bringing our small organization to ISO 9001 certification. I am meeting a lot of resistance. I really do not know where to start or how.

Resistance?

Do you have the full support of the Owner/President and the rest of the Top Management?

Get yourself educated, get the people you work with educated. It's old story - people fear what they don't understand - so remove that barrier.

Spend time searching, reading and posting here. There's a wealth of information and a lot of people who've walked in your shoes. We'll help!

Do you have the full support of the Owner/President and the rest of the Top Management? This is indeed the FUNDAMENTAL question. Because, if you believe the answer is no, it is futile any serious effort. If you don't have 100% support, then the mission should change to: "GET THE CERTIFICATE, FAST, CHEAP and EASY". Instead of spinning the wheels attempting to install a robust QMS in place.

But that would be a shame, because the organization's Vision and Commitments sound good:
Our Vision
To be your first choice in renewable energy power solutions by manufacturing reliable and durable products while building long term relationships with our employees, customers and suppliers. Some of your commitments actually would dovetail very well with a well designed QMS.
Set the highest standard for performance, integrity, and professionalism
Provide the best customer service
Deliver only the highest standards of product quality measured by our customer's unconditional satisfaction
Develop innovative and competitive products and services
Listen carefully to all ideas, expectations, and viewpoints
Always do what is right
Assume accountability for our actions
Ensure a safe, clean and injury-free workplace
Maintain a financially healthy company
Devote time and energy to support our local community

Normally when I see them employed the results and benefits should be tossed into the dustbin. If you don't put any effort or sweat into it it doesn't mean anything.
