Hi All,

My first post and am asking for some assistance in simulation of a factory with a view to improving it.

Ive been on training modules myself which i, along with my peers have improved simulated factorys by way of Kaizen, Takt Time, Layout, Heijunka, Pull Systems, Kanban etc etc....

I have done sticklebricks-washing machines, paper-waterbombs, plastic-plugs. Obviously there are other variants of a simulated factory out there, and was wondering if anyone can share those with me has i need to come up with one in order to train our Team Leaders.

Check out the Northwest Lean Network (http://www.nwlean.net/), they have some simulations available for free download on their TOOLS & DOWNLOADS page.

There is always the old systems standby - the Beer Game. It was developed at MIT - http://scripts.mit.edu/~sdg/System_Dynamics_Resources.html

One simulation is at http://www.masystem.com/beergame. There is also the original non-computer version with pennies representing cases of beer at http://www.solonline.org/pra/tool/beer.html

Although you may not be trying to simulate what the beer game does, the idea of beer production and distribution using pennies as tokens to represent beer could be easily manipulated to fit your need.
