bobdoering 27th February 2009, 03:18 PM May have to use the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels approach...:biglaugh:
Craig H. 27th February 2009, 03:26 PM These guy's attitude towards their customers is, um, legendary. Have any of our raod warriors had experience with them?
Oh, and you know that pocket on the seat backs?
Audit Monkey 27th February 2009, 04:26 PM :mg: What will happen if I don't have a coin on me? Not a good thought....:nope:
Howard Atkins 28th February 2009, 02:36 AM I recently flew with them from Frankfurt to Gdansk.
If you have baggage you must pay to check in as you cannot checkin on line with baggage.
I paid the extra 2 euros for priority boarding and got the front row.
Before me in the check in were 2 tourists with a reasonable amount of luggage, only 15 kg free, and they were asked to pay some enormous amount for excess baggage.
Strict check of carry on as well.
If you know the rules it is ok, most of the passengers were Poles going home for a visit.
It was some half of the price of a regular Lot/Lufthansa flight, $90 instead of $210 when I booked which was because I had to change my schedule and had a non refundable ticket for the previous itinerary.
The flight was OK and the attendants friendly.
The toilets were free
Colpart 28th February 2009, 06:55 AM I've used them quite a lot over the years. The planes are quite good now (they used to be old and scruffy) but the seat pitch is bare minimum - as you might expect. Fares are really low but I have always had good service and generally on-time arrivals - better than most of the 'big boys'.
As for charging for the toilet, I am not sure if he really means it - he loves to create attention for the airline and himself so it is most likely a publicity stunt.
Sidney Vianna 28th February 2009, 11:18 AM but the seat pitch is bare minimum - as you might expect. I've never flown them, but I heard this week that their seats don't recline and they don't have trays either. One of the few airlines that order retracting stairs in their planes...
They might be onto something....Give you all the free coffee and tea you want....and charge 10 euros for a key to the bathroom.:biglaugh:

I believe they only fly short routes, so they might as well remove these air johns; no smell, less maintenance, less pollution...:D
Audit Monkey 28th February 2009, 11:35 AM :tg: I now know one of the worst jobs in the world ... Being this CEO's press agent.

Yup! It's a shitty job...
Stijloor.
Colpart 28th February 2009, 02:26 PM Stijloor, depends what you call a short route, I recently flew to Seville in Spain which was 3 hours.
It is a point about not having to empty the toilets though (I believe they call it the 'honey truck'), it all costs money and takes time so if they can manage without it, all the better for them.
Did you also see that they will no longer have check-in desks? Everyone has to check-in on-line.

Colin,
In due time, we have to fly the darn thing ourselves...:D

Back is up, forward is down, tires to the bottom and pointy end to the front.
Not a problem:lol:
Claes Gefvenberg 1st March 2009, 03:06 AM Ireland’s low-cost carrier considers pay-to-use toilets, CEO admitsI don't really fancy that idea, but maybe that could get people to consider going to the loo before boarding the plane? The customary stampede towards the restrooms as soon as the fasten seatbelts sign goes off always amazes me. If the need is that dire after a few minutes of the flight... perhaps the planning was less than perfect?
/Claes
Howard Atkins 1st March 2009, 05:40 AM Claes,
Please do not be so hard on us.
As one involved in the stampede, despite the planning I have a psychological need to go.
Sorry
Stijloor 1st March 2009, 05:50 AM Friends,
And in case you get to go...follow the instructions (http://readwritenow.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/toilet-in-japan.jpg).

Stijloor.
You joke, Comrade Stijloor, but I did find myself looking for the instructions when I went to the loo in Japan (dry land). You actually have option buttons to choose from!!! :mg::o:D
I'm now kinda relieved* not to have flown JAL....:)
*pun intended
JaneB 4th March 2009, 02:22 AM Roland,
Don't they have dual flush toilets where you are??
Stijhloor - fascinated by the no fishing in toilet icon! I'm still wondering who would think of doing that and how it is presumably done (or attempted!) often enough that there's a need for an instruction not to! :mg:
amanbhai 4th March 2009, 03:04 AM I think the airline industry is heading for more hidden charges. Like snaks, Restroom, drinks, seats, priority check in, etc. etc.

There is - I kid you not - a control panel on the side of many toilet seats in Japan, with (IIRC) at least buttons. And no, it's not for triple flush. :D

US Airways re-introduced free soft drinks this month.
Audit Monkey 4th March 2009, 08:29 PM I flew Delta (ex-Northwest) 2 weeks ago and got free soft drinks, so all is not lost.
