So I see I am classified as a shy poster. Yes indeed. I think it’s because I have not had a stat class in 20 odd years and really need a refresher and I don’t want to ask too stupid a question. But I would like to ask some advice before I go jumping into the wrong class or applying the wrong quality system. I would like to know a bit more on how I could apply statistical analysis in the following case. Example: I make 25 pieces a week of a cable that consists of a piece of cable and two connectors (one on each end). Every cable is electronically checked. Cables can be 25 +/- 1". Machine cuts wire, it can cut accurately to 1/16" and connectors are put on by hand. In terms of a quality check what is the best system/plan to use to ensure quality. What book or class would you recommend that would cover this type of process. If this is more than I should ask, my apologies.
Thanks to all the great posts I have read over the months. It makes me realize how much there is to learn.
