Translating Gilberto´s question :

How can production rate be calculated as referenced in the APQP manual item 4.1.

The production rate demonstration is usually just a production run, sometimes observed by the customer if they require it.

If you quoted 300 parts per hour at 1% scrap and 1% downtime, data is collected from this run to prove or disprove your quote.

The length of the run is usually a production shift as a minimum.

Each automotive customer has their own unique rules which spell out in painful detail what is required.

GM has GM 1960 Run at Rate
Chrysler has PSO (Process Sign Off)
Toyota has HVPT (High Volume Production Trial)

The names kind of tell it all.

So basically just run and see if you get what you planned.

I supposed, it should be "Run at Rate" evaluation. :)

I don't know about the Chrysler and Toyota requirements, but GM's Run at Rate is separate from the PPAP "significant production run." Run at Rate, whether a customer representative is present or not, is generally done after PPAP approval.
