I am in the process of framing the procedure for calibrating the on-line pH meter.

Can any one help on how to calibrate the on line pH meter.

What we do is to dip this rod in the CRM and records its findings. this we call verification/ calibration and records its results. The same work instruction we have written.

I thought it woul dbe standardization of the pH solution to validate the pH Meter. I would prepare 3 standardised solutions of pH = 3; pH = 7 and pH = 10 to be used for calibrating the pH meter and make necessary adjustments when the probe is immersed in each pH solutions.

It is verification / validation or calibration of pH Meter?

am sure that you will find many references if you google the subject,

the best source for defining the procedure and acceptance criteria for pH meter is its user manual [manufacturer's recommendations]

Generally, we use point & slope method; outline of procedure is as follows:
1.use any-two-standard-solution and adjust the instrument response to match standard values.
2. measure the response for third standard, and evaluate the closeness of the value to the standard-reading.
3. calculate the slope of the measured response; and compare it against the manufacturer's recommended acceptance-criteria.

since you are suggesting that its an online probe, you will also need to evaluate the frequency of calibration & conditions as well.

and if you are in the purview of any regulatory agencies, then better refer to relevant guidelines/pharmacopoeia as well. [ which may have specific criteria for acceptance-criteria, standard solutions etc.,]

hope this helps.
