NPT threads are tapered, so the PD isn't constant as it is with straight threads. Why do you think you need to know the PD?

I know that a NPT thread is tapered. But in the Machinery's Hand book it says the pitch of a 1/8-27 NPT thread is 0.03704". I was just wondering how to find this.
