Hi All,
I was asked to find the answer to this question and I am not a repair person so this is all new to me. I work for an FAA Certified Repair Station and the questions is if we have another FAA Certified Repair Station do a repair under their SFAR 36 can we then use that part and if so how is it certified? If anyone can tell me where to find this information that would be a great help.
Thank you,
James

I am not a repair person either but but I think you might start your search for an answer by looking HERE (http://www.airweb.faa.gov/REGULATORY_AND_GUIDANCE_LIBRARY/RGFAR.NSF/0/CC7951053A99CDB586256DC00055EE72?OpenDocument).
Also, a call to your local FSDO would be a good idea. I think you will need to contact them eventually anyway to gain approval for the contracted maintenance you are proposing.

An authorized repaire station will supply the part that they worked on with the 8130-3 issued by them. The part and the tag then allow you to use it for the opperation that you are performing as long as it complies with the applicable CMM or other governing documents.

Thank you,
