I met one question about the Cmk study of fastening process, in our plant, nobody is clear on how to handle this issue.

in one station, we use the automatic fastening spindle to screw down the bolt and the sensor will collect the torque then display in the screen.

my question :
1. does this kind of machine need the Cmk study?

2. if need, how to do?

my experience tell me , it is not necessary to do Cmk study ,because there are many factors affecting my process , including the hardness of material, the oprator and so on, it is hard to study the machine exclusively

but we can do the Cg/Cgk study to ensure my sensor is no problem, it means the result in the display screen will represent actual torque.

so what your opinions?

I would think that if the only requirement is stability of the torque of the fastener, a capability study of the sensor would suffice.
