Dear all,

I have a task to design a special gauge to check the bending of cast parts before machining. Bendings of the part should not be more than 5 mm before machining. This cast part is about 500mm x 300mm x 100mm with holes in the corners. I have fixture on which the part will be mounted.this fixture has 3 pins to rest the part and 2 locating pins which passes through the holes. I have additional two pins, which has flat surface and at some distance from the mounted part, will use to check the bendness of the part along with special go and no go gauge.
What should be the tolerance for this gauge and what is the design procedure?:bonk:

thanks in advance

:thanx:

The information you need is contained in this ASME Standard:

Y14.43-2003 Dimensioning and Tolerancing Principles for Gages and Fixtures (http://catalog.asme.org/Codes/PrintBook/Y1443_2003_Dimensioning.cfm).
