Don't go hunting for a 'procedure sample'. Do you have a clear understanding of the process (or processes) you follow? If not, forget about 'product realisation'. Focus on what you do in your organisation to 'get your product or service made... into something real'. First, get the overall process/es clear. Only then need you start thinking about whether/if you need one or more procedures. The only way to meet 7.1 is to do everything from 7.2.1 to 7.6 excluding any requirement that you can justify excluding yourself from. If you'd take the time to look more closely you'd see that 7.1 all the way through (d) are what 7.2.1 - 7.6 more specifically require. Don't waste time and effort struggling with 7.1, do all the other stuff in Section 7 and your meeting 7.1 will automatically happen. This is just like 4.1 which ain't gonna happen until you meet all the requirements (shall's) from 4.2.1 to 8.5.3 amanbhai 1st July 2009, 01:49 AM this is exactly what we have done. however, we are a service industry. JaneB 1st July 2009, 02:35 AM this is exactly what we have done. however, we are a service industry. I don't see how this is a helpful response to the original poster, amanbhai. And there's zilch different for a service industry. (If you have already done this, then you should now know how you meet 7.1. For example, if you've been providing your services for some time, then the output is quite evident from the fact that you're doing what you do, and that you are of course meeting all relevant requirements (including for the required records) arin_23 1st July 2009, 08:27 AM Don't go hunting for a 'procedure sample'. I would also like to mention about clear understanding of the PDCA cycle in this regard. The product realization process is not a discrete delta, it is having logical relationship with many other factors. Once the logical flow is clear , then the setting up the correlation becomes much more simpler. Regards, Arin AndyN 1st July 2009, 07:58 PM I wish there was an 'undelete' button! JaneB 1st July 2009, 11:48 PM The product realization process is not a discrete delta   This does not make sense. I simply do not understand what you mean. arin_23 2nd July 2009, 01:48 AM   This does not make sense. I simply do not understand what you mean. I meant to say the product realization process can not be separately designed or understood if it's correlation with other activities mentioned in PDCA cycle is not clear. Regards, Arin |
