:frust:I am in a lively discussion with a co-worker on the requirements of 7.6. He says that the following statement is part of the one of these published requirements ISO9000.., AS9100 or TS 16949
"Measurement, inspection and test equipment used for product acceptance is
calibrated at specific intervals, or prior to use." He has done some searching and I have but I can't find this statement in any revision of these standards. You covers have come through in these types of questions in the past and looking foward to hearing what you have to say on this one.
Thanks

In 7.6 the statement is:
Measuring equipment shall be calibrated or verified at specified intervals, or prior to use ......and so on.
No where have I found the term product acceptance, rather conformity of product. Frankly I think it's just another loose interpertation. Hope this helps

'Conformity of product' not 'product acceptance'.........strictly.
But it's basically the same thing, isn't it? If the product conforms, surely it's going to be 'accepted' and if it doesn't conform, it won't be 'accepted', it'll be 'rejected'.....
Not a loose interpretation, perhaps, more an alternate way of saying the same thing. Just the power of the English language......

Hi Andy,
Probably should have left the word loose out. You've nailed it :bonk:

Hi Bob,
The statement that your co-worker is quoting may come from a supplier quality manual. I did a quick Google ;) search on the quoted statement and I found similar language in calibration procedures and supplier quality manuals.
I hope this helps to settle the argument.
