Hi,

We are an AS9100 contract machine shop intending to sell parts to an aviation company going through the FAA certification process. One of their public compliants is that the suppliers do no understand the FAA certification process.

I could use any help quickly to point me in the right direction of which ones of the FAA docs would pertain to our parts while the company is going through this process.

Or a short (if possible) description of the special requirements this imposes - he has mentioned no "use-as-is" disposition, etc.

We will be machining parts to their design and prints to be used on the aircraft.

All help appreciated.

Kathy

I am going to assume that they are producing PMA parts.

Read Part 21, subpart K, section 21.303 here (http://www.airweb.faa.gov/REGULATORY_AND_GUIDANCE_LIBRARY/RGFAR.NSF/0/61EF6DF6DB467987852565D7006069A3?OpenDocument)

You can also read 8110.42C here (http://www.airweb.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgOrders.nsf/0/D1D550BBC2C82DD386257472005724EF?OpenDocument)
