I thought that I had a general understanding of this topic, but I am stumped with what seems to be a fairly simple problem!
The attached table of a 2^k-p design was given. The question is identify the values for k and p and the generators associated with the design.
After referencing my book, my notes, and internet sources, this is not adding up!
At first glance I thought this was a 2^6-3 design (6 factors, 8 runs), which means my design generators would be D=AB, E=AC, and F = BC. However, the associated plus/minus levels then do not match the table. Can anyone tell what I am missing here?:bonk:

It is a 2^6-3 design (6 factors, 8 runs), but the runs are not in Standard Order. They have been randomized. Put them in Standard Order first, then determine your generators.

Hmmm. I tried that earlier on paper and it was still not working. I updated the file to explain. This is driving me insane!:frust:

Your version in Standard Order works out perfectly, but the original version will not work out. X5 = AB will work, but not the others. There is something wrong with the original because rows 4 and 5 are impossible. You cannot have the 3 "-"s and 3 "+"s in the generated columns. with a mix of + and - in the first 3 columns.

Exactly! I'm glad you are seeing what I am seeing.
Thank you for the help.
