View Full Version : Closed or Resolved: Photo Album Navigation Links

Photo Album Navigation Links were 'eliminated' in the last upgrade of vBulletin. I don't know if anyone else was confused, but I was when I was browsing some albums today. I have edited a file and the navigation links that were on the top right (see photo) are back.

If you would like to see an example of Customer Service - Design/Developer disconnect, read this exchange: Albums Navigation Links question (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=315222)... vB was bought out by a big company not too long ago and these days the effects are starting to show. It used to be a relatively small group of people so communication was good. These days, not so much... It is a good read - It's somewhat humorous... :biglaugh: Like reading from a script.

There are a fair number of complaints. They're also changing the pricing and what constitutes vBulletin - Sorta compartmentalizing things I think. The price to me isn't of importance. Thing is I've used this software since 2001 and watched the software popularity grow and then they were bought. That changed everything. Years ago it was pretty personal. When I read that thread I kept seeing "That's the way it's supposed to be" and I was cracking up here because eventually Steve (Customer Support Manager...) came out and said he has virtually no contact with the developers.

Here is some discussion (http://forum.vbulletinsetup.com/f23/vbulletin-4-0-going-cost-even-17392.html).

BTW - While I plan to upgrade to 4.0 when it comes out (this fall ;) ) it may be a few weeks or more before I make any changes here. I have this forum very heavily modified and they plan some deep changes so a lot of the mods may not work. Even the link to the Wiki mod here (a 'No Separate Login' mod which support stopped for about 2 years ago) may go south. Moderators *may* see Decimator disappear (we'll have some type of substitute, but not as neat as Decimator which, also, is no longer suported). I'm going to have to do a lot of testing on my Mac here to see how bad the damage will be.
