View Full Version : Patrick Swayze succumbs to pancreatic cancer Stijloor 14th September 2009, 09:20 PM Friends, From msnbc: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28582715/?gt1=43001 Stijloor. BradM 14th September 2009, 10:57 PM Hollywood loses a good one. I grew up on his movies; remembering how reluctant I was to go see Dirty Dancing due to the name. What a great movie. He always played such a bad boy role, but, with one glance, could always calm people down to show them he had a big heart. While a PhD bouncer of a bar was a little far-fetched, you couldn't help but root for him kicking around the bad guys and Brad Wesley in Roadhouse. "I would have thought you would have been bigger" seemed to always lighten the mood a bit in the movie. While he made other movies, including one that drove the word "ditto" into the ground,:tg: it seems my favorite memory of him is on SNL with Chris Farley. Those two dancing for the only spot on the Chippendale team. It was really close with the judges, but in the end, by a close margin, they picked Patrick.:lmao: Reading the bio strikes me of the kind of man he seemed to be. Worked right up to the end, never giving up, never letting cancer control him. Patrick, you will always be remembered on TV and in our hearts. May you now rest in peace. Randy 14th September 2009, 11:47 PM I've got a couple of friends who I was in the National Guard with and that also work in Hollywood and I rmember them saying that Patrick Swayze was about as nice a guy as they ever met...unlike Michael Landon who was a real horses "A.." The movie "To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar" was a riot Check out his film history..http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000664/ Migre 15th September 2009, 04:14 AM A fine actor and, seemingly, a fine man too.
