Wes Bucey recently posted a thread about Pharm.job from an e-mail he received and I thought of this site: http://www.ihirequalitycontrol.com/ I've not replied to any jobs as I'm still currently employed but thought some of you may be interested. After you register your e-mail and password, you can still scan job listings without the fee. If you see something that may suit you, I believe they offer a free 14 day trial. Anyone out there ever tried this site?

Anyone out there ever tried this site?I'm aware of this outfit. Job candidates should be aware these folks also pressure candidates to PAY for the same kind of advice the Cove provides free in the Occupation Discussion Forum. I get at least one email a week from them, offering to "distribute [my] resume" for a fee.

When I last looked, the job listings were all blind ads - no employer ID. The mechanics of responding to a job listing are not to my personal liking, but each person should judge for himself. Tip: be sure to include buzzwords and acronyms from the job listing in your response - these are "machine scanned" before any human sees them.

Personally, I think the ASQ job listings (http://careers.asq.org/search.cfm) are a much better source for leads, especially since most, if not all, identify the employer or at least the recruiting agency. It is free for the candidate. Employers pay a lot for a listing, so they are probably pretty sincere about the position offered.

I'm leaving this thread open for a while if anyone wants to comment positively or negatively about ihirequalitycontrol

Please remember:
Keep the discourse civil: if the comment is positive, please give an example of WHY; if negative, give specifics, not just slanderous remarks.

I too just received the same email. I replied once and told them I am not paying to look for jobs, but they still keep coming.

I'm looking for work and they email me every couple days. I've never paid for their service BUT I can squirrel out 80% of their clients using the add nomenclature and GOOGLE Search. Either that, or by description and town, so they are useful. :notme:

OK! I think that's enough comment about ihirequalitycontrol
The point I think we're making here is that there really is no value to paying these folks to get the ID of a prospective employer because you are still essentially dealing with people charging a fee for something you can probably do more effectively yourself.

In What Color Is Your Parachute, Richard Bolles continually talks about improving your odds of landing a job by getting to an employer BEFORE he pays money for a listing

You may not believe MY advice, but Bolles has been successfully selling new edition after new edition for years and has countless successful job hunters sing his praises.

If YOU are a successful client of ihirequalitycontrol, please start a new thread in the Forum, Occupation Discussions (http://elsmar.com/Forums/forumdisplay.php?f=30), and tell us all about the experience.
