View Full Version : Autoclave Duration Requirements at 135ºC within Italian Hospitals

I know this is slightly off of the 13485 topic, but I was just wondering whether anyone knew what the autoclave duration at 135C is within Italian hospitals?

In the UK, US and pretty much everywhere else its 3 minutes but France seem to insist on 18 and I just wondered whether the Italians deviated from the norm as well?

Thanks

As far as I am aware, the Italians are still at 3 or 3.5 minutes.

The 18 minute duration in France was to protect against nCJD, and applied to airways and surgical tools. I didnt think it was universal.

Thanks for that. It appears to be being applied universally, at least it is to our products!

As this seems to be resolved, and is slightly a lot :-) off-topic, i will move it to the Hospitals & Health Care Providers - Best Practices and ISO 9001 forum.
