View Full Version : Kevin Started It... Marc 2nd February 2002, 06:04 PM I'm not sure what it means, but Kevin started it... This came today:
http://16949.com/jpg/ASQC Senior Cert.jpg
JRKH 2nd February 2002, 06:44 PM Marc, Allow me to be the first to congratulate you. I'll include a hardy handshake when I see you Tuesday.:D :D :D :D James energy 2nd February 2002, 07:00 PM Congrats, Marc. For those who want to know what the fine print says, at least on this 14" monitor, it says: Marc T. Smith Has met all professional and technical requirements necessary to attain the grade of Senior Member American Society for Quality The American Society for Quality advances individual, organizational and community excellence worldwide through quality improvement, learning and knowledge exchange Kudos :agree: :smokin: Laura M 3rd February 2002, 01:47 AM Awesome dude!   Atul Khandekar 3rd February 2002, 05:30 AM Hearty Congratulations, Marc! -Atul Kevin Mader 3rd February 2002, 10:22 AM Marc, All I had was an idea, all the work was done by you!!! Congratulations on the recocgnition of your achievements!! In my estimation, you deserve the next level hands down. Regards, Kevin Marc 3rd February 2002, 02:53 PM I guess now I'll have to talk nice about the ASQ.... Mostly. It's a plot to silence a nonconformist! :lick: Thanks for the kudos, folks! D.Scott 3rd February 2002, 07:09 PM Well done Marc - you deserve it. Dave Marc 4th February 2002, 01:11 AM It's kinda weird. I was watching a special on PBS today and tonight which was originally aired 14 years ago. It was the 'series' of Bill Moyers interviewing Joseph Campbell in The Power of Myth. I taped it 14 years ago when it first aired and I remember I taped it because I was going to a 'prep' course for my CQA test. At one time I was somewhat active in the 'local' but haven't been for years. My, how time has passed... :thedeal: SteelMaiden 4th February 2002, 09:45 AM Congratulations Marc! I don't know what we'd do without you, your site is far and away the best thing that has happened to quality folks. It's great to have a place to go to get advice, humour, and maybe even straightened out on ocassion, but mostly know that we can find facts without fear of being ridiculed. You are THE MAN! Or U D'man depending on your geographical preference! Kevin Mader 4th February 2002, 09:54 AM I second the motion.... Al Dyer 4th February 2002, 11:39 AM From your other black sheep (Energy already responded) I also must chime in with congradulations! While some of us sometimes take shots at them I'm sure we are all proud of any certifications we have worked for. They don't look bad on a resume or sales brochure. Michael T 4th February 2002, 04:22 PM I would like to add my congratulations too. The Cove has been an invaluable resource - not only from a professional standpoint, but also on the personal side... I no longer feel like the lonely quality prophet walking the wilderness of ignorance... :smokin: It is nice to know (I think) that there are others out there who fight the same battles I fight. :frust: Kudo's also to Kevin for recognizing the value Marc adds to our lives and making the nomination. Cheers!!! Rick Goodson 4th February 2002, 04:40 PM Congrats! While some may make light of this achievement, I for one do not. Only a few ASQ members (about 10%) are senior members. You can not apply to be a senior, you must be nominated (with supporting documentation). It is IMHO a true honor. I am however a little bit ticked off that I did not think of nominating you. My apologies for the oversight.:) Rick CarolX 4th February 2002, 05:54 PM Marc, Just wanted to add my congrats to all the others. You earned it!!!!!! :bigwave: CarolX Randy 4th February 2002, 06:15 PM Did it get you a pay raise or just a warm fuzzy? We rejoice in the accomplishments of our brethern and reside with the knowledge that such accolades which are and which will be given are well deserved and indeed in all actuality fall short of the true deeds of such a worthy idividual. How's that for original?:bigwave: Marc 4th February 2002, 11:50 PM > Did it get you a pay raise or just a warm fuzzy? Nope - can't charge more. Market is saturated as it is. Laura-2002 5th February 2002, 05:49 AM Well done me old China, Your site has by far helped me with all my quality issues and even helped me improve in others! Thanks Marc, YOu deserve it geez!:agree: M Greenaway 5th February 2002, 06:11 AM Well done Marc, it must be very satisfying to achieve this recognition. Many thanks again for providing a very lively forum that gives us quality professionals a vent for our feelings that someone else will actually listen to and empathise with. Ken K 7th February 2002, 07:37 AM Congrats Marc, A very deserving achievement for a unique individual. My hats (bag?) off to you! |
