I heard a rumor (from only a single source) that the Big 3 were not requiring 14001 registration from their TE suppliers (only from their production suppliers). This can only be too good to be true, correct? Has anyone else heard anything like this?

I am in the process of quoting a QS/TE supplier to GM, Ford and Chrysler who has been told they must get 14001. I also completed a client certification for QS/TE and ISO 14001 last month for a robotics company - most business is with GM.

Ford is requiring 14001 of transportation suppliers. I haven't heard anything about exemption for TE suppliers. As far as I know it's across the board.
