Lack of understanding.
What does it mean "service provision" in 7.5.
Is it servicing (in terms of previous cl. 4.19) or
it is a service as one of two main kinds of activities in business (output of products and rendering of services).
I think the second one, because "servicing" is fully covered by 7.5.1 f) implementation of .... post-delivery activities ( see Correspondese table B.1 at the end of ISO 9001) but one can find words " service provision" also in the title of 7.5.2.
On the other hand a term "product" includes "service".
Dilemma.

I believe your interpretation is correct. 7.5 refers to services provided to customers as a product while 7.5.1.f covers post-delivery support of those products (which many people call service). 7.5.2 also covers service in the sense of produts.

So, there is a difference between "service" and "servicing", isn't it?

Yes: We came up with this difference when we translated the old standard section 4.19 into German in 1994. There was a lot of discussion on whether Dienstleistung (like in consultancy) or Wartung (like in oil change) was right. Back then it was decided that ISO meant servicing in the sense of maintenance. I think NYHawkeye's interpretation of the new 16949 is correct.

Dear eee,
Service (4.19)= After Sales Service.
After the sales is made and you have agreement to maintain or repair the goods sold in the period of agreement, say one year or two, you must do. Most of the electric appliance, such as air-conditioning have to have after sales service. Or servicing in short.

In 7.5.1 Control of production and service provision (ISO 9001:2000) is the delivery of goods and service, except 7.5.1 f) mention about post-delivery activtiies. The post -delivery activities is after sales service or service in 4.19 servicing (ISO 9001:1994).
