A little help please.
TS16949 7.2.2 states " Purchasing information shall describe the product to be purchased, including where appropriate"
b. requirements for qualification of personnel
Can anyone explain what this statement means? Are they talking about the organization or the supplier? Any helkp would be greatly appreciated.

Am I missin' sumthin? I don't see that wording in 7.2.2? (course, I've only had one cup of coffee.... I'm not seeing much of anything yet...)

I should have said 7.4.2 Purchasing information. My mistake.

Disclaimer - I'm only familiar with ISO these days, but I've got an example to share.

The last prototype house I worked for (QS9000) had a very large customer that routinely contracted large assemblies like frame assemblies and engine cradles, etc. One of their requirements for qualification of personnel that they stipulated on all of their purchase orders was that any welding on their stuff was performed by an AWS certified welder.

Especially things like welding, soldering, where defects could be hidden from normal inspection practices.

This is aimed at requirements that your organization may have for your supplier's personnel. The welding example is a classic one, and illustrates the intent here.
