Thanks, everybody.
We were QS before. Our products are small stampings and sub assemblies for Nissan (mostly).
One big lesson learned was the APQP, in process design input and output.
We were not design resonsible in the QS. Going with the TS, the auditor was looking further more than what we had in APQP with the QS.
Beside the regular A1 to A8 checklists, Team Feasibility and Risk Analysis, etc. the auditor was looking for activities from the APQP team to set targets for process design input on timing, production rate, process capability, target cost (in someway).
For the design output, we had to find also data target for reliability and maintainability. These will be linked to the PM activities of the tooling later.
These targets are then be documented, followed up and verified. We use checklist (signed by team members) to satify these requirements.
For design validation, we just use PPAP process to satify it.
Paul.

Recommended for certification - (4) manufacturing facilities and (2) support sites. No nonconformances reported but (21) total opportunities for improvement. (3) manufacturing sites to go 1st quarter 2004.
