Is it "OK" to throw away old PPAP parts when a new PPAP has been submitted?

I regard samples as quality records and as such I believe that the samples should be kept for a year after the end of the project. This is for PPAP because of a change not a correction of a deviation.
If the re PPAP is because of resubmission to correct a deviation only keep the correct current parts.
