Is there a chart or something here that can show the conversion or the "old element to new element" in ISO9001:1994/QS9000 3rd edition over to the new elements of ISO9001:2000 / TS 16949:2002E ? I am trying to start up a new audit schedule for 2004 year and we are going to be changing over to the new TS in same year and i want to start to tie old elements into what will be our new ones to audit i.e. old element 4.2 = new ?.? type of chart. thanks

Courier,

There are several guides available thru AIAG. I have used the ISO/TS 16949:2002 Implementation Guide (publication CQI-7) and found it useful as a cross-reference. There is a Gap Analysis (publication CQI-6) which I have not seen or used. I would imagine these publications are costly, especially if you're not a member.

BSI did a decent gap analysis that may be posted in a thread somewhere. I'm certain other cove members have some good examples.

I have a file that compares QS9000 to TS16949. I will attach it for your review in post 9 in this thread: ISO/TS 16949:2002 Procedures (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=5975). I think I found it here on the Cove some time ago.

Hope this helps.

Actually I posted a similar pdf file that was written by Rad Smith, one of the original QS-9000 authors.

Has anyone checked to see if its up-to-date or not?

I first saw a version of the comparison matrix before the TS 16949:2002 standard was released. Rad updated the matrix not long after the final standard was issued. AFAIK it's up-to-date with the standard itself, but it has no consideration at all for customer specific requirements...
