Welcome to the Cove!

Attribute is a sampling where the result is either Go/No-Go, or Pass/Fail, therefore you do not accept anything that does not pass.If you find a failure in the sample size, the entire lot is rejected. This goes back to the Military sampling tables where it was allowed to find a defect in the sample size and still accept the lot. The sample size and acceptance number was based on a specified AQL. This is not now an accepted practice, particularly in the automotive industry. Ford never did allow it.

Variables sampling means you are obtaining actual measurements that results must meet a specified numerical tolerance, such as a minimum or maximum, or target plus or minus a certain amount.
Hope this helps.
