My appreciation to those who have generously contributed over the last 9 months to keep the forums online.

I have set up a directory and have put in a few files for you. Just download the attached text file. it has the directory location and the User Name and Password for access.

The User Name and Password are NOT related to your User Name and Password here in the forums!

I plan to do this from time to time just like the way I currently open up the 'Members Restricted Directory' from time to time. I'll pull a few files from the 'Premium Restricted Access Directory' from time to time and post them for a short time period.

Again, your support and contributions ARE appreciated!

NOTE: 14 November 2005 - File removed - Obsolete. Will probably do this again in the future, but not frequently.

Please note: This file is in the $ Contributor's forum and is only available to $ Contributors (http://elsmar.com/subscribe.html). All the details are in this thread: Elsmar Cove Forums Specifics (http://Elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=6641)

I'll look at the audit guide file right now.

I figure a few files now and again, considering all the support these forums have gotten from you folks, you deserve it. Except maybe energy....

Try it now and let me know what happens.

BTW - The Elsmar.com in the slide background can be removed by 'Viewing' the Slide Master and deleting it there.

Hey Butchie
When I could afford it, I once paid full price for access. Remember that chain saw? :vfunny: :agree:

Marc,

Thanks very much. This is the best 7 cents a day I have ever spent. I wish there had been more contributors because I think you and this site deserved it. The value I have got from the responses has been enough to keep me motivated in my chosen field of Quality. There were many times I felt like leaving but the bond I have formed here has kept me sane. I have found a place that shows me that everyone has the same issues and problems and this place either helps us fix them or gives us a forum to vent our frustrations. Marc you deserve every fortune that befalls you. If I had to contribute again this year I would have.

Keep up the good work. (PS. I would also like thank all of the other contributors that helped keep this site alive)

Greg B :thanx:

I'll be attaching some files in posts in this thread from time to time for Contributors. These files will be from different places such as the Restricted access direectories and outher files I have. Again, I appreciate those of you who have Contributed financially!

The first post is an old one I came across from one of the original forum regulars. For those of you who remember Marty Ambrose, here's Marty's powerpoint "Calculating MMC Cpk When there is a Maximum Material Condition or Least Material Condition True Position Specification" from 1999.

Marc,

As you mentioned contributions in the above post a questioning thought passed through the space between my ears....

.......How will I know when my contribution ($) has expired and therefore need to renew?

Marc

A few years back I was thinking about databases when I was working with a company. The attached is just a powerpoint of some thoughts I was having at the time. I was playing around with a fellow who was going to try to put together a home-grown Access database (which he eventually did, and quite nicely - wish I had gotten a copy...) which would interface with their MRP system. A page of it was some thoughts on what had to be tracked over all - this was an implementation.

The file is not a big deal, but you might find a few of the thoughts helpful.

My records show you contributed on Wed, 16 Apr 2003 at 07:08:10 GMT. As an early Contributor, helping me when I needed it most, and because you participate a lot, your status will not expire.

This is a short PowerPoint file with some pointers for auditees and escorts. Prep for registration (or other registrar) audit.

Newer Contributors - This is an 'old' thread, But -- There are a number of interesting attachments in this thread. Just an FYI.Marc, Geoff has a good point, when does our contributor status need to be renewed? If someone wants to know their contribution date, just message or e-mail me.

To help make the site 'pay for its self' I started the attachment restrictions (Contribution requirement) in March 2003 and removed them (except for in this forum) the beginning of February 2004.

However, the software did not have 'built in' "subscription" tracking until the beta release in June 2004 so everyone who contributed prior to the software update was entered manually - I changed each individual's user group manually.

For everyone who contributed after the software upgrade in June, your account will auto-magically expire and you will be moved by the software back to the 'registered' user group. One hour after that happens, if you have more than 20 posts you will be auto-magically changed to the "Involvement - Posts" user group. No big deal - mostly recognition.

My plan is to leave everyone who contributed prior to the June 2003 software upgrade as permanent 'Contributors'. You folks contributed early when the site was loosing money. Advertising is paying the bills which is why I opened up access to download attachments to all registered users during February 2004. My concern is that the site pays for its self - and right now the advertising is going well. I didn't want to charge and I didn't really like charging people, either.

So - everyone should know when they contributed and from the above know the current scheme.

I am leaving the Contributions link open and I plan to provide extras to Contributors, but that will all happen in this forum. Don't get me wrong - I still appreciate Contributions.

Hi Marc

Do you have the update of the username and the password??

Marc
30th August 2005, 12:55 AM
I'm not sure what you mean. No password is needed for Contributors to download attached files in this forum. Your status is a Contributor so you shouldn't have any problem downloading attachments.

You're the person who e-mailed earlier about Contributor status and your purchasing agent. All the files attached to posts in this forum you can now get as your account has been upgraded.

However, the directory referenced in the first post is long gone. That was mainly for the early contributors. Let me think a bit - I may open another directory briefly as I did before in the near future.

How will we know if you do this?

A new thread will be started in this (the Contributor's) forum.

The best thing to do is 'subscribe' to this forum (use the Forum Tools dropdown in the forum view) so you'll receive notice of any new threads in the forum.

Many of the files I used to put in a special directory for Contributors are in threads in this forum, which is in part why I haven't set up a special dirrectory in a while.
