I like signatures. I use one. Lately you may have noticed that signatures only appear on the first post for any user on any given page. This cleans up the threads a bit.

View Full Version : Signatures: Some Info Marc 23rd January 2004, 11:51 AM I like signatures. I use one. Lately you may have noticed that signatures only appear on the first post for any user on any given page. This cleans up the threads a bit. Atul Khandekar 23rd January 2004, 12:33 PM Not sure how exactly this works. No signatures on this page: http://www.elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=5689&page=3&pp=15 My signature appears under my SECOND post on the page http://www.elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=5689&page=4&pp=15 Can I use HTML ( say, a URL) as signature? Marc 23rd January 2004, 04:28 PM I may not keep this, but I want to watch it for a day. It is supposed to limit a signature to the first post by a user on each page. See http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90108 The first thread you cited was an old one. Maybe it has something to do with threads imported from UltimateBB some years back. I'm not sure if I have html turned on in signatures, but I do expect signatures to be kept relatively simple - preferably size=1. As far as adding something to every message, a name is OK but I prefer people mainly keep links to their web site and such in their signatures. I want to keep this under control as I have visited a number of forums where pictures and all sorts of garbage make every thread mostly signatures. This post should not have my signature but my first post should. You are right - it doesn't appear to be performing consistently. I'll look further into it. It was a quick hack and easy to undo. Marc 23rd January 2004, 04:45 PM I took it out for now. It looked too weird. Too different. |
