Examination study guides such as the following usually contain previous exam questions.

Another source is from the Quality Council of Indiana. Their Primer is a very good study guide and they have past questions at the end of each section.

Good luck!!

How many years ago? I think I may have some copies of exams dated from the 70's to 80's.

I think they only published them a couple of times. From any date would be greatly appreciated.

I have some boxes full of old "stuff" I collected over the years. I'll go through it this week-end.

I'm not sure how much good old exams would be ... the body of knowledge and the pool of test questions for all of the ASQ certifications are reviewed and refreshed about every five years or so. Each test is different because the questions are drawn at random from the pool. Also, the whole quality engineering profession has changed so much since the early 1960's that the old exams would not even cover a lot of the current topics, and may even be just plain wrong on others!

I agree with Bill Ryan - the CQE Primer by Bill Wortman (Quality Council of Indiana, www.qualitycouncil.com (http://www.qualitycouncil.com)) is excellent. (It's what I used a dozen years ago!)

Other resources would be topical searches of The Cove (there's a wealth of good stuff here) and some of the references ASQ lists with the CQE body of knowledge. One I personally recommend is Quality Planning and Analysis by Juran and Gryna.

I agree with Graeme. The ASQ body of knowledge has changed few times since those Questions were released. But the mathematical questions on
probability, test of hypothesis, ANOVA,SPC, DoE,sampling are not going change.

But my concern would be the time taken to solve those questions. If the length of the exams are different during these periods, there is a risk.
Current ASQ questions are prepared so that you can answer within 1.8 minutes. The past questions could have been written to solve for longer timings.Practising these questions may not actually prepare you from the timing perspective.

Yes, QCI is a good starting point to get the "flavour"of ASQ exam.Since the Primer is arranged in the same order of BOK, easy to refer and obtain width of the BOK. QCI CD has 1000Q which help you get the speed and score for simulated exams. I personally think, adding Juran handbook and Montgomery in the QCI preparation increases the depth of BOK and probability of passing the exam.

Good Luck.
Govind.

Where can I find more CQE quiz to pratice?

This one you may know already:
http://www.asq.org/cert/types/cqe/studyguide.html

You may want review study guide questions related to " Basic statistics, SPC" from CQT,CSQE,CSSBB,CRE,etc. Compare Body of Knowledge. Some of the questions from other exams are applicable to CQE also.

Other free Quiz from my web search:
http://www.qualitycouncil.com/onlinequizes/cqe/cqenew.htm
http://www.qualityamerica.com/Exams/Public/CQE/login.ahtml
http://users.cnu.edu/~srutherf/cqecqt.htm

http://www.cqeweb.com/ use to have several (few hundred) free questions. Pay for solutions type marketing.
I found out today that it is no more free. They are selling those package with solutions. I used Quality council+CQE Web questions during my preparation.

Good luck with your preparations.

There were a total of four CQE Exams published by ASQ, 1972, 1974, 1978 and 1984. The exams were in two parts, Principles and Applications, and each question had five answer choices, because that was the format used at the time.

After publication, many people took exception to the stated answers given as being given as correct. Eventually ASQ quit publishing prior exams.

The CQE Application brochure has also included CQE exam questions. Over time, the official ASQ answer to a few of those questions has changed in subsequent brochures, and in a few cases, switched back to the original answer as being correct.

While the original concepts in the the four published exams are still valid, the Body of Knowledge changes have significantly changed the weighting of the categories of the questions. The earlier exams seemed to have more emphasis on the calculations, while the student still needs to know how to do the calculations, there is now more emphasis on understanding the concepts, assumptions and applications of the tools.

To answer the original post, I believe the four CQE exams were in Quality Progress, but I don't know if copies that old are still available.

Johnnybg,
The back issues soft copies start from Jan 1995 only.
http://www.asq.org/pub/qualityprogress/back.html
But if you are looking for an article on a specific topic,
you may query the info search feature in the ASQ web page.
http://qic.asq.org/
If you find your topic from an older article before Jan 1995, you will
be able to purchase from ASQ at a very nominal rate.

Govind.
