View Full Version : Reunion at AQC2004 - AQC conference - Toronto

As most of you have read by now, I am now a part owner of the Tosebo property. While 2004 sounded like a great year for a reunion, this purchase and my son's wedding in June have caused me to have to delay an "event" like that until 2005. It is on the schedule for the second weekend in June of 2005. By then we'll have the place looking all spiffy and will be able to utilize the cabins as well as the Clubhouse (and I hope the local motels as well if enough guys show up) We, of course, welcome any of you that would like to drop by and wander through. Drop me an e-mail - I'd really like to meet and greet as many old and new friends as possible. Remember - the sun always shines at Camp Tosebo.

Dave Wallace

Guys,
This sounded a great idea to me as well. How about meeting in the 2004 AQC conference-Toronto?
Is there anyway we can find out if any of our forum members attending AQC?
We can identify a place, time in the evening and have an informal chat face to face. We can put a face to the name (or nick name)!
Regards,
Govind.

The original thread was about a Tosebo campers reunion, but hey - What the heck. Anyone going to Toronto?

Marc,
Thanks for moving into right slot. Apologize if it was wrongly placed.

Iam attending AQC 2004 . Most likely even start from 22 May Saturday afternoon from Treasurer, leadership training onwards until all 3 days of conference. I would like to know if other forum members also want to meet anywhere in the conference center?
Thanks Govind.

I won't be going to the conference, but I'm game to meet up afterwards!

I know the training budget in very tight in various organizations. Never thought this tight!!
So far only 1 person has confirmed visit to AQC Toronto 2004.

Like to meet more Elmar forum members in the AQC. Let me know. We can arrange to meet in the conference or outside the conference to accomodate RCBeyette.
Regards,
Govind.

I'm game to meet up afterwards on Monday or even during the day since May 24 is a holiday here in Canada. Even meeting on Sunday (if folks are arriving then) is a possibility for me. During the rest of the week, though, I am scheduled to be the Lead on a 9K System Audit at my company. Meeting up is possible, but not until the early evening for me (i.e., 1900 hrs). As we get closer to the date, I'm sure a meeting time/place will be solidified...even if there is only 3 of us. :D

re: meet Covers (Govind & Roxane so far) at ASQ AQC in Toronto

Unfortunately, much of my spare time has already been eaten up by other commitments. What I have left is the following: Sunday or Monday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, and the lunch breaks on Monday (11:45 to 1:15) and Tuesday (13:30 to 2:00).

Perhaps Monday's lunch would be best; meet up in the lobby of the conference center???

I wish I wasn't so constrained, but I am. :nope:

There are some restaurants around the Convention Centre....it might be easier to meet there for lunch with reservations. This way we're sure to meet up with each other...as opposed to wandering around the lobby of the Centre. Unless, of course, we do something like all wear red roses in our lapels! :D

Saturday afternoon -ASQ Treasurer training, Sunday afternoon: Certification division recognition event. I had to be on those 2.

As we get closer to the date, we can workout date/time acceptable to all of us.We will see if any more are interested. There are sessions I have signed on during the Lunch time also on all 3 days. I guess evening is a better choice.

Sunday Morning is fully open for me. Conference days Monday and Tuesday evenings are open.Iam sure I will see Rob Nix in one of the session/tutorial as fellow attendee.

Thanks for all the response.
Govind.

Anybody else going to the AQC in Toronto???

Govind,

I think I'll put a strip of bright yellow tape on the carrying bag they hand out. How about meeting at the Monday afternoon refreshment break, say 2:50 pm in the exhibit hall near the escalators at the "Quality Council of Indiana booth (#307)?

Roxane,

I hate to have you go all the way to the Convention Center (OK, Centre) ON YOUR HOLIDAY, just to meet up with ONE Cover (me), but lunch is still open on Monday.

Sorry I won't make the AQC this year. I had a choice of attending that or a couple of seminars. Having attended the last 7 conferences, and not being that overwhelmed with the different sessions (had great times in all the host cities, though), I opted for the seminars which I feel will have a better "bang for the buck". I will miss the "easy" 3 RUs though (as well as the chance to meet some fellow "dwellers").

Hope you all enjoy :bigwave:
Bill

Lunch is the best time for me on Monday....I don't mind heading into the city (rather enjoy it, actually). If the three of us can make it, let me know and I see what restaurants are nearby (and relatively fast, too) so you can get back in time for the afternoon session.

Rob, RCB:
I have registered to a network session in the same time as follows. This is good subject on QFD. I hate to miss this.Somehow we should be able to accomodate a timeslot. We can work out as we get closer to the date of conference.
I guess only 2 people from this Elsmar forum members attending this conference?
Govind.

NET03 The Journey to Six Sigma using VOC and QFD
James T. Schutta, S&S Consulting Associates; Caroline Fisher, Loyola University, New Orleans

This networking session will cover the attention received on Six Sigma and how small, large, service, not for profit and manufacturing industries can start the process to differentiate the organization from the competition. We will cover the VOC and QFD tools used in Six Sigma.

I will be at AQC in Toronto -- I guess that makes three!

I have just been looking at my schedule -- the times I have available are:

Sunday afternhoon until 5:00 pm
Monday break 2:45-3:15. I could be persuaded to blow off the 3:15 session but I must be at the Author's Reception at 5:00 pm.
Monday after 6:30 pm
Tuesday 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
Rob, I'm OK with meeting at the CQI booth about 2:50pm. My Cove name will be on my ID badge. Plus, I'm afraid that's my real face :mg: next to my name at the top of this post.

(Not being a road warrior, I don't have stuff like a laptop PC so I will have to rely on the message board and cyber-cafe' for on-site communication.)

Unfortunately, due to some recent events on the personal side, I will need to back out of meeting you guys at the conference. I apologize for the inconvenience.

RCB,
Thanks for the feedback. If you are not attending the conference, coordinating the time and venue is always difficult. Appreciate your support for this thread. I guess we will meet in a different opportunity.
I will meet both Rob Nix and Graeme at the conference as per the location mentioned.
Govind.
